Connecticut Data Collaborative Earns $122,793 Multi-Year Grant from Hartford Foundation for Public Giving
The Connecticut Data Collaborative has been awarded an 18-month, $122,793 grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to support four core data literacy initiatives: data capacity building for agencies in the Hartford region, civic engagement programming for youth, the Equity in Data Community of Practice and implementation of the Hartford Data Collaborative, which includes nearly two dozen public and nonprofit agencies.

After 6 months in business, Afterglow Studio is proud to be bringing the community accessible yoga classes, offered in studio 7 days a week. Classes are offered at various times during the mornings & weekday evenings. We are located in the Parkville neighborhood of Hartford at 30 Arbor Street, the beautiful building that was the original Gray Manufacturing Company, built in 1917. Since then, the bones have been revitalized and transformed into high-ceiling, natural light spaces that we have found a home in. Stamford, CT, June 2, 2021 – Rellevate, Inc., a fintech company dedicated to empowering consumers through leading-edge financial and payment services, has commissioned research conducted by Strategic Advisor and economist William M. Rodgers III, Ph.D. to assess the U.S. workforce’s current economic health and explore the impact that earned-wage-access (EWA) solutions could have on financial wellness.The report, available at Bridging the Gap, finds that even prior to the pandemic (1) low and moderate income families don’t have the income to make ends meet, nor the ability to absorb unanticipated expenses, (2) closing the gap between income and expenditures would alleviate the anxiety, frustration, and stress that low and moderate income families experience, and (3) nearly 100 million U.S. workers could benefit from EWA access programs.
Chrysalis Center CEO Wins Distinguished Alumni Award
Congratulations to Chrysalis Center's CEO Sharon L. Castelli for receiving the "2021 Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award" from her alma mater Roger Williams University.
The award recognizes an alumni "for significant long-term success in personal and professional achievements who has made outstanding contributions to their profession and has rendered distinguished service to the public welfare, thus honoring Roger Williams University and the Alumni Association."

Funds will support the purchase of Chromebooks for students and laptops for teachers and paraprofessionals.
Hartford Foundation Announces $300,000 in Grants for Faith-based Organizations
Hartford Foundation's Faith Community Grant program has awarded 33 grants totaling $300,000 to a broad range of faiths from throughout the region. This new grant opportunity reflects a change in the Hartford Foundation’s policy and practice to expand funding opportunities to religious organizations, and broaden the range of projects that can be considered for support. The Foundation will not fund activities that promote religious doctrine.
