Interval House—Connecticut’s largest agency dedicated to ending domestic violence and intimate partner abuse—announced today its plans for October’s National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Hartford has committed $750,000 over three years to help United Way improve the online presence and accessibility of the 211 network, a comprehensive source of locally curated social services information in the U.S. This will better enable 211 users to quickly find and access the information and services they need, as well as improve the overall user experience, increase website traffic and create a more consistent, connected network across the United States.

Thanks to a grant from KeyBank, the New England Air Museum has waived admission for veterans and military service men and women through end of 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the associated shutdown have meant lost sales and financial hardship for small businesses, and they have made face-to-face networking nearly impossible. The combination has left many of those businesses in a tenuous situation—unable to sell to current customers and unable to look for new ones. The University of Hartford’s Entrepreneurial Center & Women’s Business Center’s 11th Annual CT Business Matchmaker is designed to help address that problem. This year, the event will be held in a virtual format on Friday, October 2, from 8:00AM until 2:30PM.

Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is announcing a new structure and leadership to maximize the Foundation’s impact in the community. The redesigned structure also merges grantmaking with the Foundation’s Research, Evaluation and Public Policy areas.
