Wheeler’s Family Health & Wellness Centers in Waterbury, Hartford, and Plainville will host Saturday COVID-19 vaccination clinics for the public, adults ages 18+, as well as additional clinics for adults during the week in Waterbury and Hartford. No appointment or referrals are needed, and the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available.

Chrysalis Center Holds Annual “Donation Creation” Food Drive to Fill Food Pantry Shelves
Chrysalis Center is once again hosting its annual “Donation Creation” Food Drive through June 1 to fill the shelves of Freshplace, the organization’s innovative client-choice, fresh food, and case management food pantry. Freshplace serves up to 100 families living in the poorest neighborhoods in the North End of Hartford, Since the onset of the pandemic, Freshplace has seen an increase in the demand for food.
Urban League Of Greater Hartford Invites The Public To May 12th “Employment Empowerment Expo & Career Fair”
Urban League of Greater Hartford (ULGH) will bring jobseekers and employers together at its 21st Annual Employment Empowerment Expo & Career Fair on Wednesday, May 12 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This year, the free event will offer the option to attend virtually, or in-person at the Swift Factory on 10 Love Lane in Hartford’s North End. Advance registration is suggested by going to: https://bit.ly/ulgh2021careerfair.“We want every job seeker – from entry level to experienced professional – to feel empowered to obtain equitable, secure, gainful employment in their desired job or industry,” explains David Hopkins, President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Hartford. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet one-on-one with the region’s leading employers, as well as with recruiters from universities and colleges.A variety of workshops will be available, including employability skills training, entrepreneurship, and professional development. The Connecticut State Department of Labor’s American Job Center team will help with resume writing and critique, and will conduct mock interviews.
