Andrew Davis Elected to Connecticut Science Center Board
Shipman environmental attorney and community leader brings decades of legal experience and community service to the Connecticut Science Center Board of Trustees
Hartford, CT (July 13, 2026) The Connecticut Science Center is pleased to announce the election of Andrew Davis, partner and chair of the Environmental Practice group at Shipman & Goodwin LLP, to its Board of Trustees. With over three decades of experience and an educational background in marine science and ecology, Davis brings a fresh and unique perspective to the Science Center’s governing board. His distinguished career bridges science, business, education and law—an intersection that closely aligns with the Connecticut Science Center's mission to inspire lifelong learning through science and innovation.
A globally recognized thought leader, Davis synthesizes complex scientific concepts, environmental laws and regulations to provide clear, actionable guidance to diverse national and international clients. He began his career as a marine biologist, earning graduate degrees in marine science and ecology before pursuing a legal career focused on environmental law. His lifelong passion for science and commitment to applying scientific thinking to solve real-world challenges have shaped his professional journey and continue to inform his leadership today.

Davis continues to use his knowledge and experience to inform and inspire the next generation of professionals. He has authored books and numerous publications, contributed chapters to leading environmental law references, and frequently presents on emerging environmental issues, including oil spills and natural resource damages, PFAS regulation, environmental risk management, and public health considerations.
As a member of the Board of Trustees, Davis will help guide the Connecticut Science Center's strategic vision while supporting its commitment to delivering engaging STEM experiences, advancing workforce development, and serving communities across Connecticut.
