Largest Gift in MidState Medical Center History to Transform Cancer Care in Meriden

MERIDEN — In a historic act of generosity, the estate of Dante J. Molinary and Barbara Jeanne Molinary has made the largest donation ever received by MidState Medical Center, a $4.2 million gift that will significantly expand access to cancer care and enhance the patient experience for individuals and families across the greater Meriden community.

For the communities MidState Medical Center serves, access to advanced, compassionate cancer care close to home is critical. This unprecedented gift will directly support the expansion of MidState’s Oncology Infusion Suite, allowing the hospital to serve more patients in a modern, comfortable environment designed to meet both medical and emotional needs throughout treatment.

The Molinarys lived lives defined by service. Dante, a proud Army Air Corps veteran and accomplished builder, and Barbara, a beloved educator who devoted 30 years to the Meriden school system, shared a deep commitment to their hometown. Giving quietly and selflessly, this extraordinary gift reflects their lifelong dedication to community and stands as a lasting legacy of their generosity.

By strengthening MidState’s cancer care capabilities, the donation ensures more patients and families can receive high‑quality, patient‑centered care without leaving their community.

This transformational investment represents more than an expansion—it is a powerful commitment to the health, healing, and future of the greater Meriden community.
