The 7th Annual Stars Dancing for Parkinson’s Raised a Record Breaking $400,000 to Support People Living with Parkinson’s
The Ayer Neuroscience Institute’s Chase Family Movement Disorders Center is proud to have presented the 7th Annual Stars Dancing for Parkinson’s, a beloved, signature event of Hartford HealthCare!
This event featured 8 colleagues from across Hartford HealthCare and the community.
The celebrity dancers competed for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy by performing with professional dance partners from “Ballroom Fever” and “Make a Step” studios.
A special highlight was a 48-year-old patient who was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s disease five years ago who shared his personal journey before taking the dance floor himself, serving as a reminder of why this event is so important.
The theme of this year’s event was “songs from the decades.”
This year, both The David & Rhoda Chase Family Movement Disorders Center and the Ayer Neuroscience Institute are celebrating a decade long of providing care to patients and support for their families and caregivers.
The evening raises funds for essential Parkinson’s patient wellness services and programs provided by The David & Rhoda Chase Family Movement Disorders Center.
This year marked a record-breaking milestone for Stars Dancing for Parkinson’s, with $400,000 raised to support people living with Parkinson’s disease. Since the event began in 2018, Stars Dancing for Parkinson’s has raised more than $1.2 million to support people living with Parkinson’s disease, with attendance growing from 200 guests to 600 and fundraising increasing from $95,000 to $400,000 this year.
Over the past year, these programs have generated more than 3,000 participant visits, helping provide ongoing care, connection, and support to individuals and families affected by Parkinson’s disease.
