A race for all ages—this past Wednesday Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam teamed up with UConn basketball legend Donny Marshall, the CT Sun, and the Hartford Yard Goats to use one unique race – a Mascot Marathon – to announce another race — 2025 Donny’s Dash 5k to be held October 25 at Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center. Donny’s Dash features a USATF Certified 5k Course and 1-mile Fitness Walk. Donny's Dash 5k benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford.
Mascots from the CT Sun, the Hartford Yard Goats, the Hartford Marathon, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford challenged the Hartford Mayor to a 10-yard “Mascot Marathon” in front of City Hall. Why the mascots? This year’s annual Donny’s Dash 5k has a decidedly Halloween theme – SCARY GOOD FALL RUN through the picturesque Farmington Valley. Prizes will be given to the most inventive Halloween costume.
Youth 16 & under can participate for free, and kids are also invited to join the free CT Sun Fun Run for children ages 2-11.
