Hinckley Allen Partner Andrea Gomes Named to Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty List
Hinckley Allen is proud to announce that Andrea L. Gomes, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Group, has been named to the Hartford Business Journal’s 2025 40 Under Forty list. This annual recognition honors exceptional young professionals across Connecticut for their leadership, accomplishments, and civic engagement.
Andrea joined Hinckley Allen in 2021 and was promoted to partner in 2024, a reflection of her impressive legal acumen, leadership, and dedication to client service. She focuses her practice on land use, environmental, and municipal law, regularly representing developers, property owners, municipalities, and nonprofits before state and local agencies and in litigation. She is known for guiding complex projects from conception through permitting and approvals to resolution in court, with a particular emphasis on affordable housing and mission-driven developments.
Andrea’s work has had a meaningful community impact. She has played a key role in securing land use approvals for the Root Center for Advanced Recovery across Connecticut, including the construction of a new state-of-the-art behavioral health clinic in Hartford that expanded access to critical substance use and mental health care and supported patients protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act. She has also led affordable housing initiatives throughout the state, including securing land use approvals for affordable communities designed to include people with intellectual disabilities, including a 65-unit LEED-certified community in Farmington on behalf of Sager Development, LLC, and a 71-unit community in Cheshire on behalf of Metro Realty Management Corporation.
Andrea is deeply committed to community service, currently serving as a commissioner on the West Hartford Town Plan & Zoning Commission / Inland Wetlands and Watercourse Agency. She is also actively involved with the Home Builders and Remodelers Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. A strong advocate for equity and inclusion, Andrea served as President of CREW CT in 2022, where she mentored rising professionals and worked to advance the representation of women in commercial real estate.
Andrea’s leadership also extends to pro bono work, where she helped launch a partnership with Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut.
Fluent in Portuguese and the proud daughter of Portuguese immigrants, Andrea is a respected voice in her field, a dedicated mother of two, and a role model for working parents across the legal industry.
Congratulations to Andrea on this well-earned recognition! Hartford Business Journal will celebrate the 2025 Class of Honorees on September 11, 2025, at the Aqua Turf Club.
